Richard Matthews III AIA, NCARB

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Richard went on to get a degree in Architecture from Hampton University (The Real HU). During his studies, he became passionate about the metaphysical connection that we as humans have with our built environment, and the impact that design has on these environments. With each design decision, we have the ability to affect our moods, actions, perceptions, and behaviors of the people who experience and interact with what we design.

Richard has worked on a wide range of projects over the course of his career. One of his most notable project experiences to date has been his work on the design team for the Purple Line Light Rail Project. A 16-mile, 21-station light rail line designed to connect millions of people between Bethesda in Montgomery County to New Carrollton in Prince George’s County along the outer beltway.
